RE:    Annual Membership Meeting Notice for August 5th at 9:00AM

Dear Maple Lake Property Owners:

On Saturday morning, August 5th, 2023 the Maple Lake Improvement District will hold its annual membership meeting at 9:00AM.  The meeting will be held at the Maple Lake Township Hall, 6298 Bishop Ave NW, Buffalo, MN.

Along with this letter, there are the following attachments:

  1. Agenda for meeting
  2. Treasurer’s Report
  3. Schedule with maintaining $150 assessment per property. No proposed change.

All members are encouraged to attend to discuss, review and vote on items in the attached agenda.

The main topic to share at this meeting will be the status of the weir regarding next steps, information on various funding options and timing of construction.  The board hopes to have these details confirmed by meeting time in order to vote on proceeding with this project.

Briefly, the MLIDWC board has been working with Stantec, a national engineering firm based in Golden Valley, MN along with the Minnesota DNR, Wright County, Minnesota Soil and Water, and many others to help move forward this weir project.

The DNR permit application has been submitted but pending approval. As with most projects, the devil is in the details and working through these details is taking longer than originally anticipated.  Currently, we are working thru the process of finalizing the necessary easements for the construction and future maintenance of the weir.

We are also actively pursuing all funding options for this project. We are working on various grant requests, contributions from MLLPOA and loan options through Wright County and the US Department of Agriculture. The results of these grant and loan applications will be available in the coming months.

Finally, two board seats are up for re-election. Those members considering a run for office are asked to contact any board member to be included on the ballot.

The board wants to thank members for their ongoing support and looks forward to meeting everyone at the meeting.

Regards,

Board of Directors
Maple Lake Improvement District Wright County
